Aquiles Pacheco
Since I was kid in the Dominican Republic,
I’ve been interested in fine arts. I would draw on everything, from notebooks to chalk boards. I also drew everything under the sun, I used anything as a reference – I wanted all to exist here with me. My dad had old painted movie covers, such as, “Indiana Jones”, “Gone With the Wind” and “Terminator”. I couldn’t help but admire them, because of how realistic they looked. Oil paintings, charcoal portraits, and gesture drawings, still fascinate me to this day – it reflects heavily in my work. I love drawing people and faces, but I also do my fair share of illustrative designs that interpret flow and movement; like galloping horses, slithering snakes, etc…These are themes that I’d love to explore more as a parallel to my specialization. I’ve been an artist my entire life, and tattooing has just been a medium. Through tattooing I’ve been able to display the different applications that I’ve learned throughout the years. Hopefully this is a journey that will never end.
